Verified July 2026 · by a founder actually shipping from an "unsupported" country
Stripe won't have you. PayPal doesn't operate. Gumroad can't pay you. This is the guide I wish existed when I started selling software and digital products from Bangladesh — every rail below was verified against primary sources or tested with real money, most recently July 2026.
What actually works when your country isn't on the usual lists. "Verified" means primary-source documentation checked, and in several cases live payouts tested from Bangladesh.
| Platform / rail | Verdict | The detail that matters |
|---|---|---|
| Paddle (merchant of record) | WORKS | The default answer for SaaS & digital products. Paddle is the seller of record — their tax registration covers you. ~5% + $0.50/txn. Payouts via Payoneer or wire, $100 minimum. Needs a real product site with terms/privacy/refund pages to pass review. Supported countries |
| Payoneer (receiving hub) | WORKS | The spine of everything here: receives from Paddle, Amazon, Udemy, Freemius, Upwork, Fiverr; gives you US/EU/UK "local" bank details (Global Payment Service); withdraws to local banks in 190+ countries, 1–3 days. |
| FastSpring (MoR) | WORKS | Backup if Paddle rejects your product. ~5.9% + $0.95/txn — pricier, same model. |
| Freemius (WordPress/plugins MoR) | WORKS | The one plugin-ecosystem rail with verified Payoneer payouts ($100 min). Payout methods |
| Amazon KDP (ebooks) | WORKS | Royalties → Payoneer's US bank details → your bank. Standard practice for authors in unsupported countries. |
| Udemy (courses) | WORKS | Payoneer is an official instructor payout method. $25 minimum, monthly. Udemy docs |
| Google Play (Android) | WORKS | Developer and merchant registration supported in many "unsupported-by-Stripe" countries incl. Bangladesh. Location list |
| Microsoft Store (desktop apps) | WORKS | Wire payouts, $50 threshold, wide country list — and far less crowded than mobile stores. Payout regions |
| Envato (themes/assets) | WORKS, BUT | Pays via Payoneer — but takes a flat 50% author fee since July 2026. Do the math before committing. |
| AdSense (free tools/content) | WORKS, BUT | USD wire to local banks works; your bank must match your payment-address country. Slow money — needs real traffic first. |
| Shopify apps | UNPROVEN | Billing rides Shopify's API; payouts via Hyperwallet with no published country list. Test a live payout before building anything. |
| Stripe | BLOCKED | ~45 supported countries; no workaround short of a foreign entity (see US LLC below). |
| PayPal | BLOCKED | Doesn't operate for receiving in Bangladesh and several other markets. Everything downstream of PayPal-only payouts dies with it. |
| Gumroad | BLOCKED | Pays only to supported-country banks or PayPal. Also worst-in-class fees (~13% effective). |
| Lemon Squeezy | BLOCKED | Acquired by Stripe; migrating to Stripe Managed Payments (~35 countries). Don't build on it from an unsupported country. |
| Etsy | BLOCKED | Requires an Etsy Payments country (Bangladesh excluded, incl. from the 2025–26 Payoneer expansion). Address tricks get shops banned with funds frozen. Eligible countries |
| Figma paid plugins | BLOCKED | Stripe-based payouts, ~80 countries. |
| Substack paid | BLOCKED | Rides Stripe. Run the newsletter on Kit/beehiiv/Ghost free tiers and sell access via Paddle checkout instead. |
| Wise (receiving) | BLOCKED* | Send-only in several markets (incl. Bangladesh as of March 2026) — can't receive USD. *Check your own country; coverage varies. |
1. Sell software or digital products? → Paddle + Payoneer. One-time or subscriptions, they handle US/EU/UK sales tax entirely. Expect ~15–17% total cost of money (fees + FX) landing in a local account. That sounds painful until you remember the alternative is 0% of nothing.
2. Sell content? → the Payoneer-fed marketplaces. KDP for books, Udemy for courses, Google Play / Microsoft Store for apps. The marketplace brings the buyers; Payoneer brings the money home.
3. Sell your time while products ramp? → Upwork/Fiverr, both Payoneer-native. Boring, reliable, and in many countries service-export remittances get preferential treatment (Bangladesh even pays a cash incentive on Payoneer-remitted service income).
4. Past ~$1k/month? → consider a US LLC (Wyoming/Delaware via Firstbase/doola, ~$300–500 setup + ~$50–300/yr + Form 5472 filing). It unlocks Stripe and everything downstream. Worth it after revenue exists, not before.
No — and most "workarounds" you'll read about (a relative's account, a fake address) end in frozen balances during Stripe's identity reviews. The legitimate paths are a merchant of record today (Paddle, FastSpring) or a properly-formed US LLC once revenue justifies it.
Paddle, with your own one-page site. You lose Gumroad's discover feed (which drives little anyway) and gain lower fees, real subscriptions, and a rail that actually pays you.
Payoneer's Global Payment Service gives you named US bank details; paste them into KDP → Getting Paid. Amazon deposits like you're a US author; Payoneer forwards it home.
Yes — from your own site with Paddle checkout. The catch is distribution: Etsy's search traffic is the reason printables sell, and if Etsy Payments excludes your country, that channel is closed no matter what a YouTube guru says. Budget real effort for SEO or an audience.
No — that's the point. Every rail above is used exactly as designed. The rails that require pretending to be somewhere you're not are in the BLOCKED rows, and pretending is how founders lose six months of revenue in a frozen account.
